MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's spring cleaning season and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is doing his part.
On Friday, he joined a county highway crew in picking up trash along Fond du Lac Avenue near downtown Milwaukee.
This was partly a recognition of what those men and women in the bright yellow vests do on a daily basis, while at the same time helping to spruce up the city ahead of a busy tourist season.
"We know that we are a destination of choice, and so when we have many major events and attractions and folks from all over Wisconsin and across the country coming to our community, we want to make sure that it's beautiful for them to enjoy," said Crowley.
The county executive will join another cleanup Saturday, March 30, at Washington Park in Milwaukee.
