MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The amount of gun violence in Milwaukee has been staggering this month, including one shooting that killed a man who was hanging out with friends at a house party.
Authorities say it happened around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, near 36th and Custer -- just south off Silver Spring Drive.
Allen Anderson, 37, was at a friend's house. He grabbed a drink, went outside, and then suddenly people at the party started hearing gunshots. Anderson had been shot multiple times.
Police say this wasn't a robbery because he had all his valuables. They have no motive and no witnesses.
"Any case that happens in a residential neighborhood where families live with children, we have to remember that when bullets are flying there is a possibility that they could hit someone that's unintended," said Det. Timothy Keller, with the Milwaukee Police Department.
If you know anything about the suspect(s) or suspect vehicles in the drive-by shooting that killed Anderson, you're encouraged to call Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS (8477). When you call, your number is scrambled and you never leave your name or any other information that identifies you. If your tip leads an arrest, you can get $1,000 cash.
