MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A woman walked into a Speedway, held up the cashier at gunpoint and walked out with a fist full of cash. Now, investigators are counting on you to take a look at the surveillance photos and turn her in.
At 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning, with a pink hoodie pulled over her head and sunglasses on her face, Milwaukee police say this woman walked into a Speedway gas station -- located near Appleton Avenue and West Hampton -- on a mission.
Video shows the woman walk into the door with her hands in her pouch pocket. At some point, she is seen filling up a fountain drink. She had a gun out on the counter and police say she demanded money from the register. The teller handed her $300.
Video captured the suspect walking out with her drink and a pouch full of cash.
Detectives say lately, armed robberies are happening at anytime, anywhere and more often.
"The frequency of armed robberies in general statistically they are a little higher. That means we just have to work a little harder and reach out to the community a little more to avoid these things from escalating," said Milwaukee Police Department Detective Tony Castro.
In this case, no one was hurt. Detectives describe the suspect as a taller white female. She walked away on foot after the robbery.
