DALLAS, TX (CBS 58) -- Tyler Kolek is an all American and he’ll likely be playing in the NBA next year. Oso Ighodaro will likely be in the NBA too. But it’s actually Kam Jones who is the team's leading scorer.
"Just being in killer mode, staying aggressive and playing for my teammates. Bringing energy to my teammates and giving my teammates confidence. I feel like when I’m doing those things, I’m at my best," said Jones.
“I think I’m a lot more equipped. I have a lot more experiences in my pocket with the two years I had in the tournament and Tyler being out these last six or seven games, so I’ve definitely taken a good amount of learning experiences," said Jones.
Like most great shooters, Jones is a naturally confident player, but the blessing in disguise with Tyler Kolek’s injury last month is that his confidence is at an all-time high after filling in for him.
“Making sure individually we are bringing our best selves, and we help each other then will be the best as a team and that’s all you can pretty much do," said Jones.
The only mistake Kam has made so far in the tournament is getting into foul trouble against Colorado. He’s focused on avoiding that when Marquette takes on NC State in the Sweet 16 in Dallas.
