For the first time in five years a Freezing Fog Advisory has been issued for part of southeast Wisconsin and the last time we saw one of those advisories include this many of our local counties and specifically Milwaukee County was 2014! A freezing fog advisory is issued for exactly what it sounds like - dense fog with temperatures below freezing that can cause black ice and slick spots. Monday's advisory goes until noon.
So far Monday morning fog has been pretty patchy but at times it gets dense. Be prepared for rapidly changing visibility and give yourself plenty of time to stop.
Here's a map of current visibility that will update with time:
Fog should get better during the afternoon and evening of Monday but another round of patchy fog will be possible Monday night into Tuesday morning and once again slick spots will be possible with temps in the upper 20s and low 30s.
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to track the fog and temps this week.
