It's been a wet 24 hours and we still have some more rain to go before it all wraps up. Rainfall totals since Monday have surpassed 1" in a lot of hometowns and everyone has picked up at least a half inch of rain.
Going into Tuesday monthly precipitation in Milwaukee is closing in on 5" which is a lot for the month of March. We are currently running 3" above-average on precipitation for the month of March and more than last year as well. By the end of Tuesday the month is likely the 5th wettest March on record.
A few more scattered showers are likely throughout the day Tuesday and another round of some steady rain is possible Tuesday late morning through early afternoon. A few more showers will be possible through dinnertime Tuesday and might end with a few flurries or light snow showers.
Rain totals through the rest of Tuesday could reach at least 0.10-0.25" with isolated locations seeing another half inch of rain. By the time this rain all wraps up we could see some isolated totals reach 2".
In addition to the rain it is still going to be a windy and raw day Tuesday with the wind gusting to 40 mph. A breeze will linger into Wednesday from 10-20 mph but a lighter wind returns on Thursday.
