MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Springtime is in the air and May has officially arrived. To celebrate, Ian Thompson of VISIT Milwaukee joined us on Wednesday, May 1 to preview some of the highlights of the month ahead.
Potawatomi Casino and Hotel is scheduled to launch its sportsbook on May 3, including self-service kiosks, VIP seating and a 2,000-square-foot video wall. Entry is free with food and beverages available for purchase.
Central Standard Distillery will host the Kentucky Bourby Party on May 4, celebrating the Kentucky Derby. Attendees can enjoy derby-themed cocktails, snacks and a hat contest for $15 per ticket.
The Milwaukee County Zoo offers free admission for mothers on Mother’s Day, May 12, with standard parking and attraction fees applicable. The event highlights animal mothers, including Quinn, a porcupine who has given birth to four offspring.
The Baird Center holds a public open house showcasing new green technologies and local art. on May 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free, with special activities and giveaways.
Concluding the month, Festa Italiana takes place at the Summerfest Grounds from May 31 to June 2. The festival celebrates Italian culture with food, fireworks, and a variety of entertainment options.
