MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A remorseful robber stole hundreds of dollars from a phone store in the middle of the day, and since he barely covered his face, you may recognize him.
On Saturday afternoon, May 13, officials say an armed man walked into the Metro by T-Mobile store, near Teutonia and Florist, and started talking to an employee about buying a Bluetooth device. Then suddenly, the man sprayed the employee in the face with pepper spray and demanded money while apologizing profusely.
The perpetrator didn't even cover his whole face during the robbery. Investigators are hoping if you take a good look you may recognize him.
"He did flee on foot northwest from the store location our belief is that he is probably resides or frequents the area...West Capitol Drive. So my opinion is that someone would look at the video who lives in the area...frequents the area," said Milwaukee Police Department Detective Tony Castro,
While $500 from a store may not seem like a lot, detectives say catching him now will be worth it in the long run.
"Typically, the incident won't stop at just one...activity again and again," said Detective Castro.
If you recognize this suspect, you're encouraged to contact Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS. You can also use the P3 Tips App. Your tip is always anonymous and if it leads to an arrest you get cash.
