Hundreds attend the newly expanded Baird Center’s open house
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Tuesday, Sept. 19 marks one year since a 16-year-old was found shot to death in a vacant house in Milwaukee.
It's a parent's worst nightmare.
Candice Simmons dropped her son off at a friend's house and then never saw him alive again.
Simmons says she dropped her teenage son, Shaun Dorsey, off at a friend's house in the Parklawn neighborhood on Sept. 15 of 2022.
The mother says she spent three days calling, texting, driving around searching for Shaun.
"I was just trying to be strong and hope that he's okay, maybe he will call back. It was terrible," said Simmons.
Milwaukee police say the boy's body was found on Sept. 19 of 2022 in a vacant house on N. 38th Street near Center and Hadley.
He'd been shot and left in the basement.
