Despite some of the colder temperatures over the past 48 hours we are in the middle of a super sunny stretch of weather which brings up the question for today's Weather Whys: Is it rare to have this many sunny days in a row?
Wednesday only a few clouds were reported and Tuesday was reported as completely sunny. Having two or even three days of sunshine in a row is not rare but seeing more than that is. If we look into the record books the last time we had longer than a three day stretch of mostly or completely sunny sky was July 30-August 2, 2019 over seven months ago.
If the current forecast holds Friday and Saturday will be almost completely sunny which will make it four days. A storm system starts to approach on Sunday giving us some afternoon clouds but if we stay sunny then it would make five days. The last time we had a stretch of sunny days equal five or more was the middle of September in 2018 when we stacked together eight sunny days.
