Julie Parise, Reporter
Julie Parise is a reporter for the CBS 58 Morning News. She joined the station in February 2016.
She comes to Milwaukee from Augusta, Georgia, where she was a reporter with ABC affiliate WJBF-TV. Julie covered national stories like the Masters Tournament, the Charleston Church shootings, and the controversial removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House. But her favorite stories were the ones she covered at Fort Gordon, the Army post in Augusta. She frequently reported on the post's massive expansion and cyber warfare efforts. Julie even spent two days on post going through true Army training -- and she only cried once! For all her efforts, Julie was honored by the U.S. Army with a Certificate of Achievement in January 2016.
Born and raised in New York, Julie previously worked for WCBS-TV, the CBS affiliate in New York City, from 2009-2014. She was a digital producer and editor, and helped launch the station’s new website, CBSNewYork.com. She also spent time working in the newsroom for 1010 WINS, one of the country’s top all-news radio stations, and WFAN, the iconic New York sports radio station.
Her first trip to Wisconsin was during the summer of 2015 when she went to the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits. Now having been to two of the four major golf tournaments, she hopes to check off the US Open and British Open off her bucket list one day.
Julie graduated from Providence College, where she was a cheerleader for her beloved Friars. In her spare time, Julie likes to watch college hoops (especially the Big East), go running and listen to music - especially country music and Taylor Swift.
