Ruth fell in around 3:30 Monday afternoon
MILWAUKEE-Animal experts are on scene at the Milwaukee County Zoo trying to figure out how to get an African elephant out of a moat.

Ruth arrived to the zoo in 2006.

Within a couple of hours she found her own way out and does not appear injured.

Nobody has been able to figure out how Ruth managed to get down in the shallow moat in the first place.

This kind of problem is not uniqe to the zoo.

Last October,  the polar bear named Zero fell into the moat around his enclosure while playing with a toy.

Back then zoo keepers decided not to rush him out and gave him two weeks before finally tranquilizing him and moving in with a crane and moving him back up to his ground level exhibit.
