MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Two hundred people will get the training and help they need to re-enter the workforce. The Department of Workforce Development announced $1.5 million in grant awards for five organizations across Milwaukee.
Training will be offered for entry-level manufacturing and IT jobs, the same type of jobs Foxconn is looking for its operations in southeast Wisconsin.
“Those jobs, even though they start at an entry level, will allow them to skill up on top of that to build a stronger career and go forward and advance in each one of those areas,” said Ray Allen with the Department of Workforce Development.
The job training will focus on people who may have had trouble finding a job like former offenders, veterans, or people with disabilities.
