WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- People across America are hoping for 6 lucky numbers as the Mega Millions jackpot reaches $1.6 billion.
At a Mobil Station off Pewaukee Road, lines have been out the door all evening. An extra cashier was even called in.
"This is my first ever lottery ticket but with the biggest jackpot in history, I decided to try my luck," one player said.
Cashiers say the machine was printing off so many tickets that it broke.
"I made my very formal version of a pledge but I put it in writing where I'm giving away all the money," said Jeremy Deysach, a Financial Coach with CreditLife.
Deysach grew up in Elm Grove but now lives in Minnesota. He bought 80 tickets and signed a pledge on Facebook saying he'll share the winnings with those that liked, shared, and commented.
"If you want to get excited about it, join in with me. I spent the $80 for everybody, if we win, win. If we lose, we lose. Your odds are exactly the same."
Deysach, a financial coach, says he's spending the money so others don't have to.
Back at the Mobil Station, some people bought just as much.
"34 tickets, big winner," another lottery player said.
Jeremy's Facebook pledge has over 6,000 shares.
