Admirals sign Matt Lane to AHL deal

Milwaukee, WI—The Milwaukee Admirals announced today that the team has signed forward Matt Lane to an AHL contract for the 2018-19 season.

A native of Rochester, NY, Lane finished up his second professional season in 2017-18, tallying 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points while playing in 59 games with the Worcester Railers of the ECHL. Lane tallied a pair of assists in 15 games with Rochester (AHL) in 16-17, in addition to posting 24 points (11g-13a) in 45 games with Elmira (ECHL).

The 5’10”, 176-lbs center played four seasons at Boston University where he notched 33 goals and 36 assists for 69 points to go along with a +11 rating in 151 contests. During his junior campaign he helped the Terriers capture the Hockey East title and then served as an Alternate Captain as a senior, finishing third on the team with 14 goals and fourth with 28 points. Lane also helped the US claim a gold medal at the 2012 U18 World Championships.

Lane and the Admirals will kick off the season in Austin against the Texas Stars on October 6, with the home opener set for October 13 at 6 pm at Panther Arena.
