Argument leads to stabbing in Town of Burlington bar

An argument over a game of pool has resulted in one person being stabbed and a second in jail.

The incident happened around 9:25 PM Friday in the Countryside Pub in the Town of Burlington.   According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, two men got into an argument over a pool game.   The argument turned into a fight and one of the men stabbed the other in the back.

According to the Sheriff’s news release, a 54-year-old man was transported to Aurora Memorial Hospital in Burlington with a stab wound to the left side of his lower back.  Flight For Life was called to transport the man to Froedtert Hospital where the victim is in stable condition.

The suspect in the stabbing, a regular at the bar, was identified as 40-year-old Paul Blair.  He was arrested at his Walworth County home without incident.

Blair is being held at the Racine County Jail and faces charges of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Substantial Battery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Disorderly Conduct.
