Brewers receive volunteer award for Beyond the Diamond community outreach

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Brewers have been named recipient of the “Championing Volunteerism Award” during the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee’s 36th Annual Volunteer Awards. The award specifically recognized the team’s Beyond the Diamond community outreach initiative.

Beyond the Diamond features a series of community outreach events that take place throughout the season. The program is built around a partnership between players, coaches, alumni, Brewers Wives and team personnel, working hands-on in the community. The community events are funded in part by Brewers Community Foundation, organized and staged by the Brewers Community Relations department, and focus on non-profits providing quality programming in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.

The Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee is a membership association of nonprofit organizations, serving staff, board members and volunteers. Their Annual Volunteer Awards celebrates volunteerism and raises the profile of those exceptional individuals who contribute to the well-being of the community every day.
