Brewers showing interest in signing former Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It’s the offseason for baseball and you know what that means? Rumors, rumors, and you're right… more rumors. One of the latest rumors in this busy offseason includes formers Chicago Cubs starting pitcher, Jake Arrieta, and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Arrieta was one of the Cubs best starters last year, posting an ERA of 3.53. However, he decided to turn down the Cubs offer to come back to the team in 2018, meaning he is now a free agent.
An MLB Network reporter tweeted this morning that the Brewers are “showing interest” in Arrieta, as the Brewers top starter from 2017, Jimmy Nelson, is expected to miss much of the 2018 season after a shoulder surgery from an injury he sustained playing the Cubs at Wrigley Field last September.
So what do you think? Good news, or bad?
