Bronzeville Week planned for August 4 - August 11

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A celebration of Milwaukee’s African American culture and history will get underway this weekend.

This year’s Bronzeville Week starts Saturday, August 4 and runs through next Saturday, August 11.

Things kick off with a HaRUNbee 5K Run/Walk on Saturday morning. There’s also food, music, entertainment, and opportunities to learn about Milwaukee’s African-American history.

“It’s not just about entertainment. It’s about doing business, which helps to employ people which helps people to have a better quality of life, but it’s enjoyable for the entire community,” said 6th District Ald. Milele Coggs.

Bronzeville week also includes the Bronzeville Arts and Cultural Festival on Sunday. North Avenue is shut down and is full of dozens of vendors and musicians.
