ELKHORN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Neighbors are shocked after an Elkhorn mother is accused of being a prostitute. Her husband is also facing charges for "keeping a place of prostitution."

Nicole and Scott Nosek had court appearances on Thursday at the Walworth County Courthouse. Nicole is charged with 8 counts of prostitution along with two felonies. It's something that Elkhorn residents say they don't expect to happen in their quiet town.

Jennifer Savage has been living in the Gorman Street Apartment complex for 17 years. She just found out that her neighbors Nicole and Scott Nosek have been charged with keeping a place of prostitution. Savage says there were rumors.

"She was like, I think something's fishy and I was like oh I don't think that would happen. We brushed it off."

Other neighbors are shocked.

"My girls play outside all the time and to know that was going on, it's very concerning for me. I will have to pay better attention to my neighbors," said Catalina Perez.

According to the criminal complaint, the couple's 14-year-old daughter was stopped by an Elkhorn Officer for committing a crime.

That's when she confessed that her mom has been having sex with strangers for as long as she could remember.

In the complaint, police say Nicole admitted she's been doing it for 10 years.

The teen says her and her father would stay in her room while her mom had sex for money in the apartment.

The teen also says when she was younger, her parents would have her leave their apartment when she had men over.

Savage says the teen slept over their house weekly with her kids, she even went on family trips with them.

"It's sad. It's very sad that someone of that age and that someone would put their child through that," said Savage.

Now she's wishing she would have said something earlier.

"With the rumors, maybe I should have said something but I really didn't think that was happening."

The two will be back in court later this month.
