SUMMIT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Thursday morning around 4:30 the Western Lakes Fire District responded to a house fire on Venice Park Road in Summit.
When firefighters arrived the entire house was on fire and they moved into a defensive position. Firefighters were unable to contain the fire and the house was a total loss.
Since the house was in a non-hydrant area, fire crews used six water tenders to haul water from a hydrant about a mile away.
A person in the house and two dogs got out without any injuries.
