Deadly officer involved shooting in Columbia County

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation says they are investigating an officer-involved shooting death, at the request of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened Monday night in Pardeeville. A sheriff's deputy was called to a domestic disturbance at a home and that altercation resulted in the deputy firing his weapon, killing the person. That person's name will be released at a later time.

The deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The DOJ expects to put out more information on Tuesday.
