Dental Professionals of Germantown hosting 7th annual candy buyback after Halloween

GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) – Dental Professionals of Germantown is calling all trick-or-treaters to give up the mounds of excess candy this Halloween to send it to troops from Wisconsin who are currently serving overseas.

“We’ve donated almost 3 tons of candy in six-years by buying back candy from the kids in our community,” says Pediatric Dentist Dr. Chad Zambon. “Not only do the kids gets to earn one dollar per pound of candy donated, but they can also write a letter or draw a picture that we will include with the candy when it’s sent to active duty Wisconsin troops.”

Each year the Candy Buy Back event has grown, and this year Dental Professionals hopes to bring in 1,000 pounds of candy.

Children will receive $1 per pound of candy they donate with a limit at five pounds along with a toothbrush.

Current military, firefighters, police officers, and other law enforcement will be at the buyback to shake the hands of the kids who participate.

The buyback will happen the day after Halloween, Thursday, November 1 from 3 to 6 p.m.
