DNR: Fish hungry, ready to bite for 2018 fishing opener

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) – The late winter could mean a good start to the upcoming fishing season in Wisconsin.

The DNR says the cold and snow in April means fish like Northern Pike and Walleye will be hungry and ready to bite.

Many lakes in Northern Wisconsin are still ice covered, but waters in the southern two-thirds of the state are open.

Fishing season opens Saturday, May 5.
