Early morning fire in Caledonia damages home and destroys motor coach

An early morning fire damaged a home, its garage and a motor coach in Caledonia today.  The fire was reported around 5:20 AM at a home at Carter Drive and Ellis Avenue.   According to Lt. Jason Hempel of the Caledonia Fire Department, the fire began in the attached garage of the split level home and extended into the living area of the house.   It also jumped to a motor coach parked next to the garage.   One of the people in the home was able to move the coach to the street before discovering it too was on fire.   About five adults were in the home at the time of the fire, and all were able to escape unharmed.   According to Lt. Hempel the garage is a total loss, there was moderate damage to the house and the motor coach was destroyed.  A dollar estimate of the loss is not yet available and the cause of the fire is under investigation.   Firefighters and first responders from Caledonia, South Shore Fire Department, Oak Creek and Raymond were on the scene for about two hours.
