Five sex offenders arrested in "Operation Trick or Treat"

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in partnership with other local law enforcement agencies arrested five sex offenders Sunday while conducting a \"knock and talk\" operation during Halloween trick-or-treating hours. The sheriff's office carries out these operations every year to make sure offender aren't violating any guidelines prohibiting interaction with trick-or-treaters.

Deputies knocked on 219 doors of registered sex offenders Sunday. Five of those offenders were violating the guidelines. The violations included:

• Having a 5-year-old child in the residence
• Drinking alcoholic beverages
• Unapproved cell phones with internet access/camera
• Halloween candy

Last week the sheriff's office in partnership with the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force did a warrant sweep and arrested nine additional people wanted for sex crimes.
