Indiana man sentenced to 87 years for death of Wisconsin woman

(AP) — An Indiana judge has sentenced a Fort Wayne man to 87 years in prison in the death of a Wisconsin woman whose body was found buried in a basement in 2015.

Franklin Dent on Thursday received 65 years for murder in the death of 34-year-old Jessica Fecht. He also received more than two years for moving a body at a crime scene and 20 years for being a habitual offender.

Fecht of Portage, Wisconsin, met Dent at a Fort Wayne concert in 2014 and moved in with him in early 2015. The 34-year-old's body was found buried in the home's basement in February 2015.

Fecht's mother said in a victim-impact statement that she wanted Dent held accountable so he wouldn't hurt anyone else.

Dent's attorney, Robert Gevers, said Dent maintains his innocence and intends to appeal.
