Lake Geneva teen who fell ill in Morocco thanks supporters in new video

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Lake Geneva teenager is happy to be home.

We're hearing from Nathan Dyer for the first time since he got sick in Morocco and fell into a coma-like state.

The Badger High School student was hospitalized and hit the cap on his traveler's health insurance.

Loved ones raised $30,000 to help with medical costs. In a video posted online Monday, Dyer thanked everyone for their support.

"I heard about all your support which our little family did not expect. It was amazing to hear from old friends and random strangers we didn't know. Everyone has been so supportive and we love it," said Dyer.

Dyer's sister says Nathan is not well enough to return to school. He is still suffering from memory lapses and will undergo more tests.
