Madison man sentenced to nearly 13 years for bank robbery

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A man was sentenced to nearly 13 years in federal prison for the armed robbery of a Madison bank last May.

The State Journal reports that 56-year-old Rod Hunt, of Madison, was convicted on charges of bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during the robbery.

Hunt was sentenced to additional 18 months for violating his supervised release conditions from a previous conviction.

Authorities say Hunt robbed an Associated Bank in May 2017. He was arrested the same day after the investigation showed he was the same man calling a cab from a nearby business after the robbery.

The address given to the cab driver led police to Hunt's residence.
