Man arrested for OWI in Washington County, believed he was in Kenosha

TOWN OF GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) – A man was arrested for OWI in Washington County Wednesday night after failing field sobriety tests and telling officers he was in Kenosha.

Around 10:42 p.m. a deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office saw a car pulled over near Goldendale Rd. and Bonniewell Rd. in the Town of Germantown.

The driver, a 30-year-old Kenosha man, told the deputy he had run out of gas and was in the process of refueling with gas he had with him. The man then told the deputy he hadn't been drinking and believed they were in Kenosha.

The deputy smelled a strong odor of intoxicants. The man failed a field sobriety test and had a roadside preliminary breath test of result of .221. He was arrested and brought to the Washington County Jail for first offense drunk driving.
