Marquette University employee hit by car on campus

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Marquette University employee is recovering at a local hospital after being hit by a car while walking on campus.

The University says the employee was hit while walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of 15th and West Wells Street around 1:30 Monday afternoon. The employee was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. Police say the driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation and has been cited for failure to yield.

Marquette University is reminding drivers to watch out for pedestrians as thousands of students prepare to return to campus.
