Milestone For Bucks Arena Project

Construction crews working on the new Milwaukee Bucks arena, hit a big milestone on Thursday. They poured the first slab of concrete that fans will get to walk on.

“It’s a good milestone day for us today,” said Corey Waclawski, project manager with Mortensen.

Thursday's pour is one of a number that will take place over the coming year.

“It’s about 80 cubic yards, about 4,000 square feet, out of a total of about 400,000 square feet that’s going to be placed in the arena,”Waclawski explained.

Crews are working in sections and more concrete will be laid within the coming weeks.

The metal frame of the building will also continue to rise and complete shape over the coming months..

The new arena has a price tag of over $500-Million and will seat more than 17,000 fans.

Construction crews say they are working on schedule and should be done in time for the Buck's 2018-2019 season.
