More heavy rain and storms on the way this week

Last week southeast Wisconsin was pummeled by multiple rounds of heavy rain and storms. By the end of the week some spots had picked up over 3" of rainfall leading to flood advisories and warnings. By Sunday those warnings have expired, but May is off to a very wet start.

Through the first 6 days of the month rainfall is about 0.70" above-average and we are barely above-average for the entire year with total precipitation (both rain and liquid equivalent snow) just under 10".

The new work week starts dry and beautiful on Monday and Tuesday before rain and storms come rumbling back in. Three rounds of storms are possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning, Friday and Saturday into Sunday. By the end of those three rounds over 2" of rain is possible for parts of southeast Wisconsin.

Rivers are still swollen from last week's rain so another couple of inches could lead to flooding concerns.
