Mother Nature is not in a joking mood. Winter is staying for a while.

I know we just flipped the calendar but don't tell Mother Nature.  She has other things in store for us.  In fact, a developing storm system to our southwest will give us a chance of wintry mix both Monday and Tuesday evenings.  It should stay mainly snow just north of us where a  Winter Storm Watch is in place early Tuesday through early Wednesday morning.

Some spots will see more than a half of a foot of snow into the middle of the week. There are a few shots of wintry mix late in the week into next week as well.

As far as temperatures go, look for highs only in the 30s and 40s for the next five to ten days.  Many nights will be below freezing as well.

If you're heading out to the Brewers home opener on Monday, take the jacket.  Temps will be near 40.  It should stay dry, but the sun will fade behind the clouds as the game against the Cards proceeds into the afternoon.  Game time is 1:10pm, but tailgating will begin around 10am.  Go Brewers!

Of course if you're tailgating, take some pictures and send them via our free mobile weather app or email them to [email protected].
