MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new Milwaukee bar raises a glass to the Brew City’s rich history of beer and liquor all while starting a new tradition for its patrons. The Tied House at Erie and Water Streets in the Third Ward opens its doors for the first time later this afternoon.
The term “tied” stems back more than a hundred years when some of the big breweries opened their own tavern. Pabst actually ran this particular establishment in the early 1900s. The owners say their new business is a perfect tribute to our love of spirits.
Beside beer, there will be seasonal mixed drinks not to mention various bar bites. Also each night for the next four, 20 percent of proceeds between 5 and 8 pm will go toward various local non profits, including The Alliance School of Milwaukee and Lincoln Avenue Stables Rotary Club of Milwaukee Project.
