New traffic pattern in place along I-894 north by 6 a.m.

The Zoo Interchange has been an area in a constant state of change since the project started several years ago. Although we are still a couple years away from completion, drivers will continue to see new traffic patterns and new ramps closing and reopening around the core of the interchange.

A traffic switch is expected to occur the night of Monday December 11th and be in place along I-894 north by 6 a.m. this morning.  Several changes will take place with this new switch:

  • The Zoo Interchange northbound to eastbound system ramp will be shifted to its permanent structure
  • The decision point to travel to I-94 eastbound will occur 1/2 mile later
  • The Zoo Interchange southbound to eastbound system ramp will now have access to the I-94 eastbound exit ramp to 84th Street
  • The Greenfield Avenue entrance ramp to I-41/894 northbound will fully close through Summer 2018.

The Zoo Interchange will remain in this configuration through Spring 2018. As with most changes be sure to plan on extra time if you use these routes for either of your commutes.
