MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Celebrate the holidays and help local kids too!

Noche de Niños is Wednesday, December 12 in Milwaukee. It’s a party with a purpose. Toys are collected for area children so everyone can have a merry Christmas.

Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee puts on the event which is now in its 15th year.

“During the holiday season, you just realize there’s so much need in our community. So this is the one event that’s not about fundraising. It’s just about giving back and getting our members engaged to give back,” Griselda Aldrete, President of HPGM, said on the CBS 58 Morning News.

HPGM started collecting toy donations at various locations a few weeks ago. The organization will collect more Wednesday night at Noche de Niños and celebrate the effort.

The toys will eventually be distributed to eight local non-profit organizations that help families and children in need.

“For some families, it’s the only present they’ll actually receive,” Aldrete said.

Noche de Niños is from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday at Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood. The roastery is located at 224 West Bruce Street.

Bring a new or gently-used toy, or a $20 donation, to get into the event.

CBS 58 Morning News Anchor Jessica Tighe is proud to host Noche de Niños for the second year in a row. The Front Porch Rockers are back with entertainment.

Bel Air Cantina is donating food for the event. Tito’s Handmade Vodka is donating cocktails. Algo Dulce is providing specialty refreshments.
