Over 6,000 expected for volleyball classic at Wisconsin Center

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- More than 6,000 volleyball athletes, coaches, staff and spectators are expected to arrive in Milwaukee this weekend for the Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Classic. The event brings ages 12-18 together for friendly competition in Open and Club divisions.

According to Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Executive Director Jim Neave, “Over the years the Winter Classic has grown from 120 teams in our first year of 2013 to more than 260 teams this year. This is evidence that the sport is on the rise both regionally and nationally. If you’re a volleyball enthusiast or just want to see what this is all about, come check it out this weekend.”

The event will be held at the Wisconsin Center from Friday, January 12 until Sunday, January 14. Competition starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and ends around 8 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend.
