Packers activate popular preseason player, promote FB to active roster

Jake Kumerow is finally headed to the Green Bay Packers active roster. The fan-favorite wide receiver had an exciting preseason before injuring his shoulder and being forced to the injured reserve list.

Kumerow is a first-year player out of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The 6-foot-4, 209-pound wide receiver had six catches and two long touchdowns in the preseason before his injury.

Kumerow will replace injured WR Trevor Davis on the active roster for the Packers. Davis has been placed on the injured reserve list with a hamstring injury he has battled since training camp.

The Packers are also promoting fullback Danny Vitale to the active roster from the practice squad. Vitale will take the place of DL Mike Daniels who was placed on the injured reserve list.

Vitale is a 6-foot, 239-pound fullback in his third year. Vitale, out of Northwestern, was drafted in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. After spending time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad, he played in 24 games for the Cleveland Browns.
