Packers not expecting Cole Madison ‘anytime soon’

Green Bay’s 2018 fifth-round pick Cole Madison won’t be reporting to the Packers ‘anytime soon’ according to Packers General Manager Brian Gutenkunst.

Little information on Madison’s absence has been given by the Packers this summer, but Gutenkunst announced Monday that the former Washington State lineman won’t be joining the Packers for the foreseeable future.

“There’s not a whole lot of update on [Madison’s] situation,” Gutekunst said. “He’s still dealing with a personal matter. We don’t expect him anytime soon, we’re still supportive of him and in constant communication with him.”

Gutekunst believes Madison will play football again, but wants Madison’s issue to remain private as he works through the ‘personal matter’.
