Packers promote guard to active roster, place safety on IR

The Green Bay Packers are promoting offensive guard/tackle Adam Pankey to the active roster and placing safety Raven Greene on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.

Pankey has been on the Packers' practice squad all of this season. He joined the team on May 5, 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia.

Pankey was on the Packers' active roster for 16 weeks in his rookie year but only appeared in one game. In college, Pankey appeared in 45 games with 36 starts in his four seasons for the Mountaineers.

Greene is in his rookie year out of James Madison. This year, he has appeared in eight games, recorded four tackles, one sack and a forced fumble. He also converted a fake punt by running 26 yards on a direct snap in a game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Packers face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Lambeau Field.
