Rain and snow Saturday morning! 50 by the afternoon?

The Easter weekend will be a complete yo-yo of absolute extremes.  A storm system to our west will arrive Saturday morning.  Our computer model guidance shows a mix of rain and snow between 6 am and 9 am.  This mix could produce a burst of snow and some light accumulation on the grassy surfaces.  Thankfully road temperatures and surface temperatures will keep the roads wet.

By the afternoon a strong southwest wind will develop, and that will push highs into the lower 50s.  That wind will crank between 20 and 30 mph will howl as the surface low deepens.  I wouldn't be surprised if wind gusts are over 40 mph.  Unfortunately, the winds will shift northwest and temperatures will dramatically drop into Sunday.

Highs on Easter Sunday will only climb into the upper 30s.  Thankfully the wind will calm down for those Sunday afternoon Easter egg hunts.
