UPDATE: Death of 1-year-old boy ruled accidental, child became entangled in window blind cords

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- After discussing with the District Attorney, no charges will be filed in the death of the 1-year-old boy who got tangled in window blind cords.

UPDATE: SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Sheboygan police say the death of a 1-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon was an accident. 

According to investigators, the child climbed out of a portable crib and suffocated after getting caught in cords attached to window blinds. The boy was found unresponsive in a home near 27th and Center. 

The caregiver told police she cares for her own children and other children on a daily basis. The home is not licensed as a day care. 

The investigation has been referred to the Sheboygan County Health and Human Services and the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. After the investigation, the case will be reviewed by the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office.

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Sheboygan Police Department is currently investigating the death of a 1-year-old child.

Police were called to a home in the 600 block of N. 27th Street for a report of an unresponsive 1-year-old boy. 

It happened shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

The child was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sheboygan Police are investigating. Additional information will be released when it becomes available, police say.

An autopsy is pending.
