Small boat takes on water, US Coast Guard helps all passengers

The US Coast Guard Station Milwaukee was called to assist a boat in Lake Michigan that was taking on water Monday night just south of Grant Park.   Around 10 PM, the USCG responded to call for help from  a 19-foot pleasure craft that reported it was taking on water.  The USCG said that all 9 persons aboard the pleasure craft were safety brought to shore and the vessel has been towed in.  It is now safety moored at dock.

According to the Coast Guard, after an initial inspection, it is believed a portion of the lower unit failed allowing the vessel to begin taking on water.

The USCG was assisted by the Wisconsin Department Natural Resources and Oak Creek Fire Department.
