Soaking rain today, some storms could be severe

A warm front will inch closer to extreme southern Wisconsin today. This is acting as a barrier between much warmer air and cooler conditions. This energy and a disturbance will bring wave after wave of rain today along with the possibility of strong to severe storms where the warm front sits.

Rain totals could be between 1”-2”, with locally higher amounts. There’s enough energy and shearing to produce a few severe storms IF the warm front lifts north into extreme southern Wisconsin. Keep in mind that not everyone will see severe weather. This will be centralized in the southern parts of the area, especially south of I-94. The locations that see clouds and rain all day, which will be most of us, will not have to worry about severe weather.

Winds will come out of the east tomorrow once the activity moves out later this evening and tonight. Temps are expected to stay in the 50s and 60s for most of the area today and Tuesday.
