Specialty license plate benefiting Children's Hospital now available

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin specialty license plate, featuring their blue children silhouette logo, is now available to drivers in Wisconsin. Donations collected through the license plate will go to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Foundation and will fund child-life programs not covered by insurance, needed supplies and equipment to advance ground breaking research, and support the latest medical equipment and tools specific for children.

Anyone may request this specialty plate with a $25 tax-deductible in addition to the regular registration fee, plus a one-time $15 specialty plates issuance-fee for non-personalized plates. At each annual renewal, plate holders will pay the annual $25 donation and the regular registration fee.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Foundation was one of the first organizations to apply through the new Authorized Special Group license plate process.

To apply for an Authorized Special Group license plate, groups must pay a $15,500 fee for development costs and collect signatures from 500 Wisconsin residents who intend to purchase the special plates. If authorized, the group must maintain 500 valid special plate registrations after three years, or the plates will be discontinued.
