Wauwatosa Police investigating six carjackings in six days

Wauwatosa police are investigating six carjackings that happened in the last six days.

“The recent strong armed or armed robberies in which vehicles were taken is our focus and job one for the Wauwatosa Police Department right now,” said Lt. Brian Zalewski.

Here is a breakdown of carjackings:

7/14/17 4:07pm – 6607 W. North Ave.

7/15/17 3:45pm – 2300 block of N. 66th St.

7/16/17 1:55pm – 2500 block of N. 67th St.

7/17/17 6:20am – 7500 block of W. North Ave.

7/19/17 12:44am – 2400 block of N. 69th St.

7/19/17 2:00am – 7532 W. Center St.

Weapons were displayed in four of the six incidents. Zalewski say suspect descriptions are vague but all are either black males or females between the ages of 14 and 21.

Zalewski says they are stepping up patrol efforts in the area and encourages anyone who sees anything suspicious to call police.
