Whitefish Bay named best school district in Wisconsin

WHIFTEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Whitefish Bay School District has been named the best school district in Wisconsin according to Business Insider and Niche, a company that researches and compiles information on schools and provides a ranking. 

Each school district in the country was given rankings on strength of academics, health and safety, diversity and the quality of teachers. According to Niche, academics weighed the highest in the grade at 50% with teachers grade coming in at 15% and culture & diversity and parent/student surveys each accounting for 10%. Health & safety, resources & facilities, clubs & activities and sports made up the rest of the grades.

Whitefish Bay received an A+ in academics, A in health and safety, B- in diversity and A+ in teachers. 

The Whitefish Bay School District is comprised of four schools: WFB High School, WFB Middle School, Cumberland Elementary and Richards Elementary. There are 3,084 students in the district.

The top five school districts according to Niche are all in southeast Wisconsin. Elmbrook takes the second spot, Cedarburg came in third, Mequon-Thiensville took fourth and Greendale rounded out the top five. To see the full list in Wisconsin, click here.
