Winter returns with cold and possible snow late this week

Summer and fall never seems long enough, does it? For you winter lovers, get ready for some happy days ahead. Big changes are forecasted this week with the arrival of the coldest air of the season. We are expecting rain to continue, on and off, for a chunk of today; although, the best chances will be in the morning hours.

The storm system begins to press east, and the winds begin to pound the region, again. This will drive in the cold air from Canada. Highs will begin to fall back into the low 40s tomorrow; the 30s return for the rest of the week and weekend with another cold front. The overnight lows could tumble into the teens for the first time this season.

With the kind of cold air we typically see in December, we could see a few flurries on Wednesday morning. However, a bigger system will impact the viewing area by Thursday night and Friday. It’s looking like it could be a dusting to an inch of snowfall. This will cause headaches for the Friday morning commute.
