Winter Weather Advisory Extended....Snow & Freezing Rain Possible Overnight

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Dodge, Fond du Lac, Jefferson, Waukesha,and Washington counties until 9 am Friday.  Freezing surface temperatures will cause slick roads as a batch of wintry precipitation moves in overnight.  

More winter weather is expected to arrive late tonight into your St. Patrick's Day!  Luckily, the majority of the winter weather will occur when most folks are sleeping.

A warm front will approach southeastern Wisconsin this evening.  The initial batch of precipitation will fall as light snow between Midnight and 2 AM.  A quick dusting to a half inch is possible with this band of snow.

The second batch of precipitation will likely be light freezing rain or freezing drizzle. Overall icing will be blow a tenth of an inch across the area.  The exception could be Sheboygan county where up to inch of snow will occur.  

Slick bridges and overpasses along with some slick side roads are possible for Friday morning..

Surface temperatures will continue to warm above freezing during the late morning into the afternoon, and that will end the freezing rain chances for St. Patrick's Day.
